The Legs and The Scroll: Steve Madden Tights

I went Christmas shopping on Saturday and took a break from looking for gifts for others to do a little shoe shopping. Unfortunately, I found no shoes or boots. However, I did find a couple pairs of tights and some over the knee socks. Yesterday's POST featured the Me Moi pair of argyle sweater tights. This post features Steve Madden Scroll Leg tights. The tights I am wearing today can be purchased HERE.

Black turtleneck sweaterdress purchased at 2b bebe in Potomac Mills $40

Closeup on the tights: I like the patterning of these tights. I think it much more interesting than fishnet.
Seriously...
these tights are SO fun!!
Multi-texture patterned pump by Moda. This pump incorporates suede, patent leather, snakeskin, crocodile and smooth leather. It is difficult to see in the picture but the snakeskin on the toe and heel has a blue shimmer to it. The suede and patent leather is black while the crocodile and smooth leather are more charcoal in hue. It is a very comfortable shoe since it has a covered platform and you should also know that it fits true to size.

Necklace from FancyQ in Potomac Mills

Wearing this outfit made me feel sexy all day long

Leggings: Argyle Sweater

Leggings + Sweater + Argyle= Fashionable?
Todays outfit combines all three elements and I think it comes across fun and colorful. I saw these leggings while out Christmas shopping and bought them for myself. All that hard work shopping for others - I deserve a treat! I love the colors and there is something about Argyle patterned socks and stockings that draws me. Perhaps it is my Scottish heritage.
I haven't worn sweater tights since I was a little girl princess.

Sweater Tights from DSW for $15

Shoes from Aldo on sale for $50.
Mmmm - I love the sun!

These elbow length leather gloves I found at Saks Off 5th in Potomac Mills for $73!! Online I had only seen gloves this long for $100 and up.

This belt I purchased at 2b bebe for $12. I like the fleur de lis design of the buckle and the reptile texture of the leather.

Purple sweater dress also purchased at 2b bebe.

Too old for sweater tights?? I am young in spirit!

What a beautiful November Day in Virginia!!

Raspberry Boots: The Kind Worn Over the Knee

While shopping Potomac Mills last weekend, I found this raspberry boot at the 5-7-9 Outlet Store. It should be rather apparent by now that I have a boot fetish and I adore the color.  Separately, I found a blouse in 2b bebe also in a raspberry color. Raspberry is a main accent color for me that I add to neutrals. This blouse has an unusual ruched neckline and 4 buttons down the sleeve. The belt accentuates the waist and gives shape.

Fashion Sisters Take Potomac Mills By Storm

Saturday Tiffany and I took off for Potomac Mills for some serious shopping. We arrived just before 10AM. We began in the Nine West store and shopped our way through to the Last Call by Neiman Marcus. We paused for lunch and then kept on going. We shopped until 6pm and completely filled the trunk of my car! Check out Potomac Mills http://www.simon.com/mall/default.aspx?id=1260

Starting our day:

This dress Tiffany spotted at Papaya - sex on a hanger!!

Lovely hat I saw in Bloomingdale's Outlet Store for $65. Matched my scarf perfect!! Not purchased - unfortunately.

Thanksgiving Day Special Programming

WE INTERRUPT YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED FASHION FOR AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE:

This has nothing to do with Fashion directly. I am a HUGE Michael Jackson fan. Note the word FAN is derived from FANATIC.
On Thanksgiving Day, TV One is airing 10 hours of Michael Jackson related programming. Hopefully, I will get to see some of it in between cooking, eating and family.

Here is the link if you're interested to see what will be broadcast. http://www.tvoneonline.com/shows/show.asp?sid=1196

And by the way, The Wiz is a so-so movie but MJ did an amazing job acting. He was 19 or 20 yrs old at the time. The Wiz was important to Michael's career as that is where he met Quincy Jones and they decided to work together. Musical perfection in the Pop realm was born.

WE NOW RETURN TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED FASHION.

Featured Fashion: Casual Male

I convinced my dear hubby to be my subject for a post on men's casual wear. I asked him to wear what he thought expressed his fashion style best for dinner out at Panera and Starbucks afterward.

Chris has chosen to wear jeans from Buckle with a brown turtleneck and paired it with that great vintage plaid jacket we picked up in a thrift store last year.
This is the same jacket I wore in my Essence of Fall post - as mentioned I shopped his side of the closet and he was kind enough to share with me.

In this photo he has added his hat I brought back from Mexico and his signature pipe which he enjoys very much with his coffee.

My man rocks the vintage plaid!

Latvia-Licious: Ruta

During our photoshoot we of course had to change outfits. For the second outfit, Ruta chose a nude colored top and rosette bolero with a black skirt and elbow length gloves. So elegant!!

Loungewear Goes Business Casual: Sweats in the Office

While shopping in the Papaya store I came across these cream coloured lounge pants which looked comfy cozy. Perfect for chilly days when you would prefer to be home in front of the fire curled up with a good book rather than sitting in a cubicle. I thought they looked nice enough to dress up for work and none would be the wiser that I was wearing sweatpants to the office. We have a business casual environment at work but I like to push the envelope and take non-business items and pass them off as "dress code compliant" fashion.
I was also inspired by Fashion Butter's post on high-waisted pants work/play series that she has been posting on her blog.

Who would guess these are lounge pants?

The Trouser-styled leg assists in the deception.

Why yes - there IS a drawstring for the waist!!

Plus good pockets!

The shoes help dress up the pants
