Monday Mashup: Style, New Shoes and Photo Ready Makeup

This weekend seems to have flown by so fast! I don't feel like I accomplished much. No new organization this weekend, but I did manage to put my laundry away.
Larissa from From The Runway to RVA asked me to be included in a feature she is doing on the site and I needed to pull two outfits from my wardrobe. Saturday Tiff came over to help me pick out Day and Night looks for the trend color blocking jewel tones. We tore apart my closet and managed to decide on two outfits. Then we left for our local DSW. It had been several weeks since we went shoe shopping together and we started having withdrawals!
Top: Express, Shorts: H&M, Boots: Penny Loves Kenny
We always dress to step out, even when it is just for shoes!
I did manage to find a pair of shoes worthy of purchasing and bringing home to join the rest of my shoe collection.
I actually saw these shoes about a month ago. I didn't buy them at the time because I convinced myself to 'walk away from the shoes.' I wasn't certain if I really wanted the style or if it was just the fact that they are red. I am drawn to red leather like a moth to a flame. If you want me to buy it, make it in red leather.
Since then I have been thinking about them and even dreaming about them. When I saw them still waiting for me on the shelf, I had to have them. For $45, they are easy on the wallet.
I love the oxford style detailing on the toe and around the heel. I'm a sucker for that, too.
If you're following my blog you know I love high heels. The heel fit the height requirement for me. I have no doubt you will be seeing these in an outfit post soon.
After shoe shopping, I had to take my Jonathan off for a date at Applebees. He looked so stylish, I made him pose for a photo:
His entire outfit is from Buckle. The t-shirt is Xavier and the button down are by "Affliction." Jeans are Buffalo. The shoes are Penguins he purchased at DSW.
Sunday I headed out to Stony Point Fashion Park for the Trends photoshoot  for Larissa. Leney of A Girl Named Leney was the photographer. I loved meeting her and posing for her. That was a blast and she is cute as hell. Sydney of Chic Stripes and Breck of Breckenridge Clare were also in attendance and part of the shoot. I really enjoyed meeting Breck face-to-face and seeing Sydney again. Both girls are really sweet and nice. Tori of Fashion Trends & More was there too and it was nice to meet her for the first time. She is also a local Richmond blogger.
I don't have photos to share with you of my outfits but they will be up in October on www.fromtherunwaytorva.com. Instead I will share with you the full face of makeup I did for the shoot. These pictures were taken after I got home and changed into "comfy clothes."
First I used Mac Prep&Prime so my makeup would stay in place. Then I used Mac Studio Fix Foundation. NW25 is the shade for my skintone. The blush is Elizabeth Arden "Tea Rose." As a final finish to the face, I dusted on Mac Translucent Pressed Powder.
The eyes have it. As a base, I applied Urban Decay Primer Potion to my lids. Then I added the Mac faux lashes I bought for the Project Style Finale. They went on really easy using the Duo Adhesive by Mac. I used Laura Mercier brow enhancer to strengthen my eyebrows. That was the extent of eye makeup for the Day outfit. I wanted to really play up my eyes for the Night look so after Leney took the photos of my Day Look, I added eyeshadow and liner. The lid I covered in Elizabeth Arden "Pewter" and I swept "Moonlit" over my brow bone. Then I added "Kohl" Mac pencil eyeliner to add more drama.
I also managed to find time to paint my nails. I went with purple to go with the jewel tones I styled.
Watch: Michael Kors, Polish: Loreal Jet Set Presto Perle
So that is my weekend! I hope yours was as fun and relaxing as mine. Have a great week.
