Monday Mashup: Shopping Trip Finds

This weekend my husband and I went on our long-anticipated shopping trip to the Prime Outlets in Williamsburg, VA. Chris found nothing he was interested in purchasing except for a Pepperoni Pretzel and a soda. I didn't find as much as I had hoped but I did manage to buy some things.
Even though I brought my camera with me to the outlets, I didn't manage to take any pictures there. I try not to embarrass Chris too much with my blogger picture obsessions so I just decided I would photograph my haul once I got home.

I had a list of stores I wanted to peruse for items on my Lust List.
Aldo, BCBG, Papaya, Wilsons Leather and Michael Kors were listed as "must-see" stores for this trip.

First off, I went into Aldo. I have always found good shoes in there. Not this time. Nothing sparked a desire to purchase. Next I went into BCBG. There were a ton of things in the Little Black Book Fall 2011 which I really wanted to own. None of the items I wanted were there. In fact, some of the prices in the outlet store were higher than in my regular BCBG at the mall. So I bought nothing. Then I went into Papaya. This is not a high end store but I can usually find basic items like long sleeve cotton knit shirts for a decent price. They had nothing I wanted.
I was really getting depressed!! We planned this trip in July and I have been eagerly looking forward to it!
While Chris went into American Eagle, I decided to check out Charlotte Russe for the heck of it. I rarely buy anything there. Wouldn't you know it? This was the day that CR was a "win" for my wardrobe. I managed to find two pair of booties for $20 each in colors I have really wanted. One of the things I usually get from this type of store are cami tanks for wearing under low cut shirts, button downs, and sheer blouses. I bought 4 of those in red, teal, fuchsia and basic white.

These have the lace trim at the bottom and along the top front. At 2 for $12, they are a good deal. To prolong their life, always launder in a mesh bag and hang or lay flat to dry.
I also found a floppy suede hat and a teal sweater with button detailing on the sleeves.
I've been searching for a floppy hat for Autumn and this one was priced just right at $7.

I found nothing I wanted in Wilson's Leather either. I had hoped to find some bright colored leather gloves or some longer length gloves. It was a bust.
So we crossed over to Michael Kors. I was hoping they would have this skirt:

Alas, they did not have the skirt I have been lusting after for over a month. Not such a big deal as I could order it online. It is retailing for $79.50 so it isn't crazy expensive.
Even though the skirt eluded me, I did manage to find some python to ease my craving. I got the deal of the day in Michael Kors. This python leather jacket:

Regularly retailing for $600, I bought it on sale for $119.99!! This jacket made the whole trip worthwhile.

I checked online for it after we got home and found it at Zappos.com on sale for $480. I am feeling like one lucky girl!

Since Chris didn't find anything he wanted at Prime, he wanted to go to Buckle on the way home. This is his favorite place to buy clothes, which he doesn't do very often. He found three things in Buckle he was willing to bring home.
First he decided upon a knit cap that he really liked.

He spent a long time there looking for long sleeve graphic tshirts but didn't find any that he wanted. He went with a button down by Roar instead.

While he was digging around for shirts, I was looking at the shoes (of course) and saw a pair of men's shoes I really liked. I wish there were a comparable pair for women as I would buy them for sure. I wasn't sure if Chris would go for the shoes or not as they are different from every shoe he owns. Plus, he isn't as flamboyant as I am. Turns out he really liked them!! For $50, they are a definite deal.

Once we finished shopping we decided to go home and change into some of our new things and go out to dinner. We took pictures in the parking lot of the restaurant. Chris is such a good sport!
The back has some elaborate embroidery and quilting that matches the front of the shoulders.
I love a man in argyle socks and great shoes!!
Here is what I wore to dinner:

teal sweater from Charlotte Russe
cream corduroy DKNY pants
gold thrifted belt
teal booties from Charlotte Russe
Michael Kors python jacket

Sunday was an incredibly lazy and boring day for me. The only thing I did closely related to fashion was reorganize my tights drawer and my fashion magazines.
I was honored by Anika of www.byanika.com by inclusion in her Spreading the Love Series. Please take a few minutes to check it out HERE
Hope you had a great weekend.
