FBFF: A Novel Idea and OOTD

This week's Fashion Beauty Friend Friday is about our five favorite books or the last five books we read. I love all books and the printed word in general. I covered the last three books I have read on my Monday Mashup post HERE. Before that I read the first four books of the Game Of Thrones series by George R R Martin and posted about those HERE
So that pretty much covers my reading habits. All of these books are worth your while. Now let's leave the "geek" side of me behind and move on to the fashion.

Tuesday of this week my mother-in-law dropped off a lovely little giftbag for me at the house. She had done a mini closet purge and found a few things she thought I may like. (Thank you Ann!!) She was so right!
The top in today's outfit is one of the items she brought me. I love it! I've been wanting more tunic style tops but my shopping budget is currently on hold. Receiving this unexpected surprise made my week.
The embellishments on the bodice of the tunic definitely spoke to me. It makes me think of computer code, but that's just me.
I had to include a closeup of my boots. Several people complimented me on these boots when I walked down to the Starbucks during my lunch hour. The way the leather cuffs over the heel can give the illusion of leather pants when wearing a long coat. Worn today with BCBG python textured leggings.
Below are a couple of silly pictures my daughter took of me with our seasonal scarecrow. Last year we named him "Stevie Strawman" since we stuffed him with straw. The name stuck even though this year we didn't stuff him.
Giving Stevie some love.
Jonathan is the artist in the family and he drew the face for our scarecrow.

Outfit details:
Tunic top: Elle
Python Leggings: BCBG
Boots: Kelly & Katie

I'm looking forward to the first RVA Fashion Blogger Meetup this Sunday. I will be sure to take pictures and tell you all about it on Monday.
I hope you all have a great weekend.
