We used the tripod for our photos for the first time on Saturday. Usually we just take pictures of each other but today we wanted to be together.
First on the list of errands was using a Groupon I had to get my nails done. Inspired by Beautifully Invisible's manicure using Tom Ford Beauty Bitter Bitch polish, I chose the closest OPI shade they had at the salon. It isn't as rich as the TFB shade but it took care of my instant gratification needs. I didn't note the OPI polish name as I will be ordering Bitter Bitch posthaste. Here is my manicure.
I'm not really overly pleased with the quality of my Groupon manicure. As you can see the polish near the cuticle is uneven and the manicurist did not apply the topcoat over all the colored polish. It has NOT started to chip yet which is a good deal better than the Gel Perfect stuff I tried a couple weeks ago.
We stopped by Michaels so I could hunt for a frame and a mat for a photo > no luck. I am particular.
DSW is in the same shopping center and being true shoe lovers we had to take a turn or two through the store to check out all the new stock. We behaved ourselves and left empty handed. She and I both have a crazy amount of shoes.
We hit up the Starbucks, Walgreens, and the Ulta. Then stopped for our photos.
Posing on a bench, this is our first tripod shot together ever. Behaving as good "models" should. Our tastes are so similar, the boots are almost identical.
Here the camera caught me being naughty and pulling Tiff's hair. It's all in good fun and no hair or scalps were damaged.
Tiff's outfit: Plaid shirt she bought while we were out thrifting last year, black sequined tank, white skinny jeans found on consignment, grey suede Bakers boots, blue clutch from DSW.
Bakers boots closer up.
Dreaming of being a pole dancer..... (just kidding)
My outfit: Rabbit fur and knit jacket found on consignment, Express grey short sleeve sweater, brown winter shorts from H&M, brown and grey plaid patterned tights from Macy's, BCBG grey suede boots, thrifted newsboy hat.
BCBG boots closer up.
Too bad the wine bar isn't open yet..... Guess we have to settle for Starbucks.
We loved the sunlight hitting the golden leaves of this tree so we decided to wrap up our shoot together under it. We enjoyed a great girlie day running around town.
Sunday we were right back out to running errands. I finally found my frame and mat at Ben Franklin's Crafts. Then I got home and realized I don't have the right size photo for the frame.
Do you know how difficult it can be to find a pillar candle that is NOT already in a jar? I searched all over. Yankee Candle only has candles in jars unless you buy the tarts or the sample candles which would be too small for my pumpkin. While in Yankee Candle I discovered the most delicious scented candle I have ever had the pleasure of sniffing: Pumpkin Buttercream. It smelled so good I wanted to eat it!! The salesperson asked me if I was looking for anything in particular while I was holding it. I told her I needed a SPOON! I bought a package of tealight candles so I could spread this scent all over my house. Ben Franklin Craft's only have Yankee Candle products.
I finally found a pumpkin scented pillar candle I could use at Bed, Bath & Beyond.
It is way too tall for my pumpkin but I decided to use it anyway.
Coming up this week:
We took photos on Sunday too. I will share those with you in my Wednesday post, Fashion Sisters Around Town Part 2
