Yes, I have new boots!
I mentioned several posts back that I wanted suede over the knee boots for Christmas. It turns out I didn't have to wait!
These boots were on sale at Bakers for $60! They are exactly what I have been desiring! I fell in love with these Halston boots when I was involved in Project Style Finals in September. Then they were full price of over $100. Too much for the PS budget as we had only $200 for a whole outfit with accessories. Once they went on sale and only had one pair left in a size that fit, I had to buy them.
Remember, I told you about my foot shrinking? I bought a size 7 boot! Unreal as I have worn an 8 1/2 since I was about 14 years old.
The upper is actual suede and not microfiber. There is a good platform of about 1/2 inch but with an approximately 5 to 6 inch tall heel, these boots are NOT made for walking very far. I wore these to work and wore them all day. Fortunately, I have a desk job or my feet would have fallen off!
There is a metal adornment on the back of the heel area which protects the suede from rubbing on the floorboard of your car while driving. You know how marked up your shoes can get from this so the added protection is great. Plus, it adds a nice little detail to a solid black boot.
The rest of my outfit comes down to shades with a flash of blue tights. No matter what, I always end up with color in my monochrome. Tights are a good way to add a splash of color or pattern to your outfits while still appearing office appropriate.
I am still in love with the wide belts of last season. This one came from Bebe last year. The grey knit skirt and 3/4 length sleeve scoopneck top are from H&M.
I enjoy wearing hats as often as I can. Somehow Fall and Winter lends themselves to ease of hat-wearing more so than Spring/Summer.
I purchased this particular newsboy cap from Macy's in 2006. The texture and the black and white yarn stood out for me.
My daughter served as my photographer today. Hats off to new boots and colorful tights!
