"How much of yourself do you share on your blog?" I have seen this question many times in the blogging world in one form or another. My answer has always been that I don't share ALL of my life here. Parts of my life leak into my posts >husband, kids, technological ability, and my friends' fashion choices. Now LIFE is leaking into my fashion choices and I think perhaps my readers deserve an explanation.

On a recent trip to my local Joann's Fabrics I found many different prints that inspired me for Spring sewing. I took photos of some of my favorites with plans to ponder what they may become with the help of my trusty sewing machine and imagination.
So - which one would you have chosen?

Once we finished the Eileen Fisher event, we went back downstairs to the Chanel counter to see Susie and Caselle. Susie told Sissie to come back to get a free foundation match and facial with the Sonicare Clairsonic facial brush.
Caselle is the little lady who did my makeup. We went back down to the Chanel counter to receive our mini-facials after the fashion show. She took care of me while Susie took care of Sis.

FBFF: Feminism

Merriam-Webster defines feminism thusly:
1. Do you think there is an incompatibility between feminism and a
love for fashion?
I don't think so at all. Being a feminist is about celebrating our capabilities as women, not erradicating all signs of being a woman. Just because I love pretty clothes, dressing nice and wearing makeup doesn't mean I am less capable. Nor does being a feminist detract from the fact that I want to be treated like a lady. I love it when a man opens the door for me. My favorite quote is about Ginger Rogers who was beautiful and fashionable: She did everything Fred Astaire did > BACKWARDS and in High Heels!
Definition of FEMINISM
1: the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes
2: organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests
This week's Fashion Beauty Friend Friday questions are centered on Feminism and Fashion:

Fashion Show at Dillards: The Eileen Fisher Collection

During my vacation in Phoenix, I had the awesome opportunity to model in a fashion show at Dillards in Chandler Fashion Center mall. Every month Dillards has an in-store event. This month showcases the Eileen Fisher Collection.
Prior to the show we had our makeup done at the Chanel counter. When we arrived back upstairs, the lady directing the show said, "Wow, you look different." I was not sure how to take that, so I just said "Thank you!"

I can't believe it has been a week since my last post. It has taken me this long to recover from my Phoenix/Vegas trip. This entry is going to wrap up the Style Nation Las Vegas Meetup for 2011. Surprisingly, I did not take many pictures in Vegas. I was having such a good time hanging with all the girls I forgot about photo-documenting a large portion of it.
Sis and I arrived in Vegas on Friday morning. We had limo service to the Flamingo and that was blast. Sis is fun no matter where she is!

While in Phoenix visiting my friend Sissie, I arranged to meet up with a blogger I recently discovered who also lives out here - Margaret Grace of The Rhetoric of Fashion! She and I had a mini-meetup at the Kona Grill in Chandler.
Blog talk ensues over lunch. Many photos taken!

My regularly scheduled Wednesday Webbie Post has been hijacked by my vacation so we are going to go with what every fashionista does best: shopping!!
To start the day, Sis had to work so she let me take the car during working hours. On the way to the dental office, I saw the metro rail "station" on Apache at Price. We have nothing like this where I live so I had to take a tourist shot. If you look carefully you can see the haze of the mountains in the distance. I'm not sure if that is Camelback or South Mountain, but a nice view anyway.

Sis only had to work until 1pm which left plenty of time for shopping.

I left town March 4th to visit my best friend who is more like a sister to me than a friend. Getting packed to go on a 10-day trip took me ALL DAY! The most difficult decisions are always which shoes to take, but this time it was MORE difficult since my vacation culminates with the Style Nation Vegas Meetup. Packing for two cities with a 10 degree temperature difference is no cakewalk but I got it done - less than 50lbs in the suitcase.
Shoes that made the cut (plus a couple more)

Now that I have completed the 30for30 Challenge I felt a recap of the last few days outfits and a review of the experience would be appropriate.

Wednesday Webbies: Traffic!

Part Three
Welcome to the Wednesday Webbies Series, Part Three!
I have received enough positive feedback to encourage me to add another installment to the wonders of web analytics. This week we are going to touch on Traffic. When we discuss Traffic keep in mind there will be some overlap with Visitors, Content and Bounce Rate. It is important to remember when viewing your web stats that each piece is part of the greater whole and does not stand alone.
So Traffic > Where does it come from? How did it find me? Where does it go from here? Who is "behind the wheel" so-to-speak and what kind of "car" is it?

RECONsider & RECONstruct: Home Fashion DIY Project

Years ago when my grandfather died, my mom and step-dad went through my grandparents' things and Mom found this hamper. At the time it didn't have the hole in the side. Mom thought it was kinda retro and quirky so she thought of me and my new home. That was in 1999. Mom brought it to me filled with a bunch of other things, like hand-crocheted doilies my grandmother had made. My husband took one look at it when he got home and said, "Where'd you get this ugly thing?" and lightly kicked the side of it - which created the hole in the side!
