I bought two different pairs of textured leggings in late summer and I have been anxiously waiting for the temperatures to cooperate so I could wear them. I finally got to wear the BCBG pair of snake textured leggings and I had my friend Olivia on hand to take pictures.
Mix No6 "Laugh" boots snuck out of their shoe box too.

Monday Mashup: Style, New Shoes and Photo Ready Makeup

This weekend seems to have flown by so fast! I don't feel like I accomplished much. No new organization this weekend, but I did manage to put my laundry away.
Larissa from From The Runway to RVA asked me to be included in a feature she is doing on the site and I needed to pull two outfits from my wardrobe. Saturday Tiff came over to help me pick out Day and Night looks for the trend color blocking jewel tones. We tore apart my closet and managed to decide on two outfits. Then we left for our local DSW. It had been several weeks since we went shoe shopping together and we started having withdrawals!

We always dress to step out, even when it is just for shoes!

I received this dress from Promgirl.net to review.
Since I am way beyond the Prom, I chose a dress that would work for a fancy holiday party. Or a Homecoming Dance, as my daughter wears the same size as I do and will be wearing this dress to a homecoming dance this Fall.
Morgan, Tiffany and I all tried this dress on and overall we all really liked it.

Monday Mashup: Makeup Overhaul, Friends and Errands

Wow! My weekend flew by! This was an incredibly busy weekend. Friday night we finally got the tree out of our yard that fell during Hurricane Irene. Then we took the daughter to out for dinner at Applebees.
Saturday I cleaned the entire house. When I start to cleaning I tend to go a little crazy. I get into details that most people probably don't often consider. For example, while sweeping out the laundry closet I determined that I needed to clean out the lint filter on the dryer. Not your normal take out the collected lint. This was a full on assault. I scrubbed it and rinsed it out at the kitchen sink! From there I ended up going through all my makeup and tossing a bunch of it. I tried on every lipstick I own and threw out 30 of them.
I was able to reclaim an entire drawer for other things.

Monday Mashup: Organization, A New Hat for Me, Coveted Fashion

With Project Style behind me, I needed to spend some time at home instead of the mall for a change. I have been a bit distracted from my housekeeping duties and it sure caught up with me. Usually, I tend to be really organized. I believe in a place for everything and everything in its place. This can be hard to maintain in shared spaces such as my pantry with the family going in and out of it and typically putting things wherever. So this Saturday I devoted to cleaning out and organizing the pantry.
Some people are really good at remembering to take "before" pictures. Not me. I just jump right in and get busy. Later I think "Wow. I should have taken a picture of what it looked like before." So I can only share with you the results of the six hours I spent on Saturday. This is "After."
I installed the shelving when we bought the house ten years ago. Since then it has been a struggle to keep items in their proper place.

RECONsider A Gift With Purchase

One of the keywords for my blog is RECONsider. I think we can make our wardrobes go alot further when we think of new ways to wear or use items we own.
Last November I went to Potomac Mills with Tiffany and put a serious hurting on that place. We shopped all day and got some great deals. We went into Charlotte Russe where I found great tanks to wear as camisoles. Because of the amount I spent, they gave me a sequined infinity scarf. I was offered my choice of colors. None of them were the least bit appealing. In fact, Tiffany and I decided they had to give them away as no one in their right mind would pay the $10 price on the tag to own one.. The salesgirl insisted I make a choice so I went with the least offensive/hideous.
I chose the gray one.

It is Labor Day and I have done my best this weekend to not labor over much of anything. So this will be a short post. I plan to enjoy my holiday by doing very little.
On Friday my son Aaron became a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity at LSU Shreveport. He dressed for the occasion and sent me two photos of his outfit. Like his mom, he loves fashion and I think he has great style.
I fully admit to being a bit biased.
