I took some time off to celebrate the holidays with my family. Allow me to catch you up on the highlights of our festivities.
As per the custom in our family, we again made our Christmas Yule log. This time though the men took to the task. Chris and I went out to gather greenery the morning of Christmas Eve and in the afternoon he and our two sons put it all together.
Aaron is home from college visiting during the break and was the primary decorator.
I believe they did a better job of it than I did last year.
We all had a lovely Christmas morning. We are very blessed indeed that each of us received exactly the gifts we wished for most.
I got the Lenovo Thinkpad tablet I had longed for:
Jonathan received his Kindle Fire:
Chris got a beautiful leather jacket he wanted from Buckle:
Morgan happily received Victoria Secret pajamas which she insisted on donning immediately:
Aaron received the Durango Gambler boots he fervently wished for:
While I was buying boots for Aaron, it turns out he was buying boots for me. He lovingly selected and placed under the tree for me a beautiful pair of LAMB boots:
I have no doubt they will appear in many outfit of the day posts in the coming months. They smell so deliciously of leather! The heel is insane and almost too much for me but I'm sure I will get accustomed to it.
Tuesday after was a gloomy day and I didn't leave the house. I thought the view through my skylight interesting in a cold and wintery kind of way:
It looks like a photo of a puddle but that is how hard the rain beat down on the skylight glass.
On Wednesday, we had my good friend Olivia to dinner. She is a college student that befriended me over the summer. We met during our lunches downtown as she works as an intern in a building near me and we both enjoy sitting on the benches outdoors. She received a really cool pair of shoes for Christmas and wore them to dinner. I had to take a picture to share with you.
She also wore a very quirky chandelier necklace in neon green to match her zombie pumps.
I managed to get one photo taken of the outfit I wore to a New Year's Eve party:
Gold and black jacket with black turleneck, winter shorts, tights and boots. Vintage gold necklace which had been my mother's.
New Years Day I spent with Tiffany; just hanging out together bare-faced and enjoying heart-to-heart girl talk.
We took photos yet hid from the camera as we both were without makeup but not without wine.
With 2011 a thing of the past and a brand new year ahead of me, I look forward to seeing how Fashion RECON evolves. Join me on the journey, won't you?
Happy New Year and best wishes for a great 2012!!
