Shoesday: Accessorizing Leopard Print

Have you ever been busted taking pictures of yourself? 

Today's shoe is a leopard print boot by Penny Loves Kenny and the story of getting busted while taking outfit photos. 

It was a beautiful spring-like winter day. I decided to wear the tomato orange dress from H&M with leopard accessories. I went out at lunch to take a few photos. I'm taking pictures in the city during Eastern Standard Time but I try to be very discreet. I am not brave enough to set up a tripod in the middle of foot traffic and pose.

I usually set my camera on a brick wall or some other flat surface and aim it in the direction I plan to be standing. The day was so nice foot traffic was heavier than usual so I shielded the view of my camera as best I could with my bag. 

While standing there waiting for the timer to go off, a gentleman stopped to watch but I ignored him hoping he would just walk away. He stayed. As I made my way back to my camera, he began to speak, and I began to wish the earth would suddenly crack open beneath my feet.

Nice man: I could take your pictures for you. I'm a photographer.


Me: Oh wow. I know this looks strange but I'm fine really.


Nice man: No, it doesn't look weird. I'm a photographer. I'll be glad to take them for you. 


Me: Thank you, but no. I do this all the time. I'm used to it really. I appreciate the offer. (thinking in my head: please go away and don't embarrass me further)


Finally, this very nice man walked away and left me to my self-photos but I am sure I turned a thousand shades of red while talking to him. 

I put my dress on over a Guess leopard print blouse. Gold jewelry for an accent. Whenever I see leopard I think gold jewelry. Somehow silver just doesn't work for me with leopard.

The Boots:
I originally purchased the boots in today's outfit for Project Style in September. They have been worn more than I thought they would be when I first saw them. I found them in the backroom at Saxon Shoes at Short Pump Mall. If you're shopping for a good deal on name brand shoes, check the backroom. I have found some awesome shoes there. 

I bought two new pairs of boots on sale over the weekend at Bakers. There is a very good sale going on there now.
