Shoesday: Adding Report Footwear to My Wardrobe

As mentioned in the Monday Mashup, I went out shopping for a new television and ended up with new shoes. I guess that is what happens when you send a fashion blogger out for electronics! So we ended up at DSW where I found this very nice pair of Report black suede oxfords on sale.

These are regularly priced at $89.94 but right now they are on clearance at 70% off!

Monday Mashup: Dinner Circle Fashion

Friday night Stacy and Keith hosted the January edition of the Dinner Circle. When Stacy and I first mentioned the concept to our menfolk they didn't believe it would last. Yet here we are with our fourth gathering and going strong. We are all enjoying our get-togethers and there is no end in sight. There is plenty of style going on when we meet up along with great food and friendship.

OOTD: Two For Less Than Price of One

It was pretty cold here on Monday of this week. I believe it is safe to say it is the coldest day we've experienced since last winter. Remember those suede pants I showed you in Monday's mashup? 

They were just the thing for a cold windy day. The low temps gave me the opportunity to wear my faux fur coat I bought on consignment last year too. 

Shoesday: Future So Bright I Have to Buy Shoes!

While out shopping this weekend Tiffany and I weren't in the mood for spring shoes just yet as it is only January and we are on the hunt to add to our winter shoes. I need a good brown pump and I am currently failing to find one. 
The new shoes coming out in stores now indicate our shoe futures look BRIGHT!

Monday Mashup: Shopping for Deals

The weather was too cold for anyone to convince me to work in the garden this weekend. If it is under 45F, I will not be digging in the dirt! Instead, Tiffany and I headed out to do some shopping. We felt like we hadn't shopped in quite a while. Saturday we hit a couple of our favorite thrift stores close to home, then we headed to the mall. 
She wanted to go to Arden B so we went to the other mall across the river. They were having a great sale. I picked up a fantastic long cardigan for $15. 

I fell in total love with this and it was the last one in the store. It was marked as a Large, but I bought it anyway after trying it on.

Shoesday: A New Series

While on a water break during my gardening this weekend, I decided it is time for a new series here on Fashion RECON. If you've been following me any length of time, you know I am shoe obsessed. So a series concerning my favorite fashion item is the perfect addition to my little blog. 

For the next 52 weeks I will have a post about shoes on Tuesdays, maybe from my closet, a new addition or the latest and greatest high priced designer shoes in my dream shopping bag. We will talk footwear! 


For the first edition, I want to tell you the story of a shoe I almost missed out on owning. 

I Need To Be A WEED

Saturday marked the end of Aaron's visit home from college. He had been with us for a little over two weeks. It was great having him home for awhile, but classes will be back in session so he must return. 

 




After returning home from taking Aaron to the airport, I sat outside in the unseasonably warm sunshine pondering my state of affairs. I decided it is time I once again return to the earth, to my roots > I need therapy!
